The NRMA FireBlanket Project


 

Bushfires affect one in ten Australians. To have any chance of bushfire control, early detection is critical. So in partnership with NRMA Insurance we set about exploring new ways to identify bushfires sooner.

The NRMA FireBlanket Project is a prototype, early bushfire detection network that not only smells a bushfire but helps pinpoint, track and predict where it could spread. Essentially an on the ground ‘bush intelligence’ system. Whilst bushfires will always be a threat knowing about them sooner will give everyone a better chance.

The Teleporter Adventures


Financial education for kids has always been a major commitment from CommBank. And with digital platforms such as Google Cardboard making unique experiences accessible and inexpensive, we saw an opportunity to make a teaching tool that both was fun to use and easy to take home. Working with Commonwealth Bank's Start Smart team we created a hybrid experience, merging a traditional textbook with the interactivity of Virtual Reality. 20,000 kits have been distributed nationally, with many more to follow.

Clever Buoy


Australia has four times more fatal shark attacks than any other country, yet shark defence methods haven’t changed in over 60 years. What if we could use the power of the Optus Network to help solve one of Australia’s most controversial problems? Clever Buoy is a smart ocean buoy that scans the ocean, categorising all undersea movement and detecting sharks by their unique signature – it then sends instant alerts to lifeguards. This unique world first will be a permanent feature on Australian beaches in 2017, worldwide soon after.

Lexus RC-F is a V8 performance coupe that hits all the metrics of kwh and kmph. It’s a thrilling car to drive. But what if we could bring that excitement to life? Working with Lexus, M&C Saatchi and Darkside Scientific in Ohio, we used a unique electroluminescent paint that allowed us to connect the driver to the car using biometric and telemetric data creating a literal visualisation of the car’s driving experience. We built the world’s first heartbeat car.
